Microwave Technology

Enginuity develops and applies microwave-based technologies to enhance material processing, energy efficiency, and process performance across mining and industrial applications. Our work combines electromagnetic simulation, thermal–mechanical analysis, and practical engineering design to deliver microwave systems that are safe, scalable, and fit for real-world operating environments. We support projects from early feasibility and laboratory investigation through to pilot-scale and full-scale system design.

In-Situ Micowave Preconditionin of Ore

In-Situ Preconditioning of Ore

Enginuity applies microwave energy for in-situ ore preconditioning to selectively heat mineral phases and induce micro-fracturing within the rock mass. This controlled preconditioning can reduce downstream comminution energy requirements, improve liberation, and enhance overall processing efficiency. Our approach integrates electromagnetic modelling, rock property characterisation, and geomechanical analysis to optimise microwave delivery while maintaining operational safety and control.

Process Line Preconditioning

We design microwave preconditioning systems for integration into existing and new process lines, enabling targeted thermal treatment of ore, concentrates, or bulk materials prior to downstream processing. These systems are engineered to improve grindability, moisture control, and material response without compromising throughput or plant availability. Enginuity focuses on practical integration, thermal uniformity, and energy efficiency, supported by detailed simulation and process performance analysis.

New Application Development

Enginuity supports the development of new microwave applications through a structured, engineering-led approach. This includes feasibility assessment, electromagnetic and thermal simulation, prototype design, and scale-up studies. We work closely with clients to translate novel concepts into deployable technologies, addressing power delivery, materials interaction, safety, and system integration challenges to enable reliable industrial implementation.
