Sustainability Projects

In 2022, the world generated a staggering 62 million tonnes of electronic waste, a number expected to surge to 82 million tonnes by 2030.

Meanwhile, the volume of discarded solar panels has accelerated from 220,000 tonnes in 2020 to nearly 900,000 tonnes annually by 2024, largely due to early replacements and system upgrades.

At Enginuity, we recognise the urgent need to address these mounting waste streams. Our sustainability initiatives focus on cutting-edge recovery and recycling of high-value materials.

eWASTE RECYCLING

FUNCTIONALITY AND DESIGN REIMAGINED

Enginuity has developed a novel process to extract rare earth and precious metals from complex electronic components. Our technology also enables the conversion of waste plastics from electronics into usable materials, supporting a closed-loop manufacturing ecosystem.

SOLAR PANEL RECYCLING

We are actively conducting trials on a new technique designed to separate and recover individual solar panel components—including silicon cells, glass, and metals—so they can be reused in new photovoltaic or manufacturing applications.

LITHIUM BATTERY RECYCLING

Enginuity is pioneering a technology to recover lithium and other critical elements from spent lithium-ion batteries. These trials aim to provide a cleaner, safer way to reintegrate valuable materials into battery production and reduce dependence on raw mineral extraction.
